An initial image than
photoshopped and enhanced… the ideals that are wanted to created, can’t do this
in analog.
A photograph then turned to
analog as a representation in a traditional ‘glamour’ effect.
Conversely this is very
digitally produced.
Aesthetically pleasing. The lines aren’t quite
straight which and it has character. Even the background isn’t a solid colour
which makes the piece also seen handcrafted.
Very vibrant high technicolour digital image.
Once the layer is cut there
is no going back! Roll with it or start again…
The process of something being handmade is satisfying for the maker but also skill of craft is shown. |
Each print is exactly the
same… nothing unique or special about each piece-won’t be sold/put anywhere
unless it is perfect and identical.

A digitally produced album cover which is made to look
vintage and handmade.
The Levellers album cover here is imperfect but this
draws the eye in because it is clearly hand made.
Here is a digitally produced album cover- used lots of
different overlapping layers to create abstract layers and bright colours due
to the printer.
The grooves of the analog being picked up rather than
signals.
Same debate occurs over the direction of
music-vinyl’s, CDs and mp3 tracks.
