Helvetica - same font as used on the packaging that Ian Curtis from Joy Division took his anti-depressants from. Inspired the font used for Unknown Pleasures.
Joy division were a post-punk band. This type face for example was ideal for the sombre and introspective nature of the post-punk era and extremely different from the mainstream culture and commerciality by Punk designers like Jamie Reid and the 1977 Sex Pistols 'God Save the Queen'.
